If religion and church-going aren’t your thing, Burlington, Vermont, might be the place for you. If they are, you’ll have plenty of company in Provo, Utah.
A new Gallup survey susses out the most and least religious cities in America, based on the percentage of people who say faith is an important part of their lives:
- Most religious: Provo-Orem, Utah (77%); Montgomery, Alabama (64); Jackson, Mississippi (64); Birmingham, Alabama (56); tied at 55 are Huntsville, Alabama; Holland, Michigan; Greenville, South Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Ogden, Utah.
- Least religious: Burlington, Vermont, (17); Boulder, Colorado (17); Manchester, New Hampshire (22); Portland, Maine (22); and Santa Rosa, California (23).
